Udupi: Woman, cow die as tree falls over them during heavy rains

Udupi, August 26, 2024: A woman died along with her cow when a huge tree fell over them during heavy rains and strong winds on Sunday evening at Mallari in Kenchanur village of Vandse. The woman was taking the cow home when tragedy struck.

The deceased is Sujatha Acharthi (53), wife of Annappaiah. The mishap took place at around 5.30 pm when Sujatha had been to a nearby place where the cow was tied for grazing. As she returned along with the cow, two to three trees all of a sudden fell over her and the cow.
