Udupi youth killed by roommate over alleged love triangle spat in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, September 22, 2024:  A suspected love triangle led to the brutal murder of a 24-year-old Udupi man in the Sanjaynagar area of Bengaluru. The victim, Varun Kotyan, was allegedly killed by his roommate, Divesh, after a fight over a woman both men were reportedly involved with.

Kotyan, employed at a factory in Bagalur, and Divesh, who works at a private firm, had been out with two friends in Koramangala on Friday night. After returning home around 4:30 am on Saturday, an argument between Varun and Divesh escalated. When Varun attempted to flee, Divesh chased him, knocked him down, and allegedly bludgeoned him to death with a stone.

Divesh has been arrested and is in police custody.
