Mangalore, Jan 20, 2013: VS Ugrappa, former opposition leader in Legislative Council, has come down heavily on the state BJO government for opposing the proposed central university for minorities in the state.
Speaking to reporters in Mangalore on January 19, Saturday, Ugrappa said the BJP ought to have welcomed the progressive decision of the Centre.
Continuing, he said the BJP government in Karnataka which has failed to appoint a Lokayukta had no moral right to continue in power. He also urged the state government to make its stance clear on the final award of the Cauvery River Water Disputes Tribunal. He also chose to blame the BJP and KJP for the rampant corruption in the state and added the present government had allocated only 13 per cent for irrigation projects while the SM Krishna Government had earmarked 39 per cent funds for the purpose.
