Mangaluru, Nov 10, 2014: K.R. Sriyan, State Secretariat Member of the CPI(M) has alleged that the Union Government has staked the interests of the work force while promoting goods manufactured in India as part of a Make in India campaign.
Speaking after inaugurating a Mangaluru city conference of the CPI(M), Sriyan was critical of the Union Government for not protecting the interests of the working class.
Stating that the BJP government was following the footsteps of the erstwhile government, Sriyan gave an instance wherein the present government was pursuing the policy of cutting down subsidy on domestic cylinders, a move initiated by the Congress government,but was opposed by the BJP which was then the opposition party.
Referring to the reduction in diesel and petrol prices, he said it was only for the time being and added the prices will see an upward trend no sooner fuel rates rise globally.
Sunil Kumar Bajal, Secretary of the city unit of CPI(M), Vasanth Achary, District Secretary of CITU, Muneer Katipalla, State Secretary of DYFI and others were present.
