Union Law Minister Veerappa Moily predicts downfall of BJP

Veerappa MoilyMangalore, October 30:  The BJP is solely responsible for the political turmoil in Karnataka said Union law minister M Veerappa Moily. He was interacting with city reporters at Circuit House in the city on Saturday, October 30.


Mr Moily said that present ruling party has killed democracy by flouting constitution of India. The Yadiyurappa government has succeeded to get ruling power in the state by violating and misusing the power he added.


M. Veerappa Moily, the union minister for law and justice, predicted the fall of the BJP government in south India and added that the BJP-led state government had secured its current position illegally.


In response to a query regarding the high court verdict, which supported the speaker’s decision to disqualify rebel MLAs just before the controversial vote of trust and the recent issue of Kehar Singh, the chief justice of Karnataka High Court, sharing stage with the CM, Moily said that he cannot make any comments on either the high court judgment or the attitude of the chief justice. But he commented that rebel MLAs, who are not happy with the high court verdict, can move the Supreme Court. He said that it is exclusively the problem of the rebel MLAs and that neither the union government nor the Congress party has anything to do with it.


Revealing that the ministry of union law is committed to revolutionizing law and justice in the country by promoting Gram Nyayalay (rural courts), he said that the rural courts will give speedy justice to those who require it. Revealing that the union government plans to increase non-recurring expenditure grants on the establishment of rural courts from Rs. 18 lakh to Rs. 28.50 lakh per court and the recurring expenditure from Rs. 3.20 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh for the next 5 years, he said that the centre will spend Rs. 11,000 crore in the following years to improve the infrastructure of subordinate courts all over India.


Denying allegations that the state Congress is marginalizing minorities, the minister said that the Congress led by Sonia Gandhi always has a soft corner toward minorities, women, backward classes, and Dalits.
