Mangalore, Oct 1, 2014 : Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Shripad Yesso Naik who represents North Goa constituency, visited Sri Venkatramana Temple at Carstreet on October 1, Wednesday morning. The Minister was accompanied among others by former MLA and former deputy speaker Yogish Bhat.
The Minister offered prayers to Lord Shree Veera Venkatesha, the presiding deity and also the idol of Goddess Sharada installed at the Acharya Mutt as part of Navaratri celebrations. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said he had heard much about the magnificent shrine and that this was his first visit to the Temple.
The minister was earlier accorded a warm welcome by Temple Trustees Jayaraj Pai, Padmanabha Pai and Adige Balakrishna Shenoy.
Shripad Yesso Naik later also visited the Parthagali Shree Gokarna Mutt.
