Uppinangady: House burgled when family visits church

Uppinangady, April 22, 2025: Thieves who barged into a house  at Hosamajalu here when the family members were away to the Church for Easter festivities, have decamped with jewellery worth lakhs of rupees.

The theft took place in the house of C A Abraham, a farmer. He along with his wife, son and grandchildren had been to the Konalu church. When they arrived early on Sunday morning, the front door was found broken open. Jewellery weighing eight sovereigns was found missing from the cupboard which too was broken open.

Nelyady cops rushed to the spot. Finger print experts were also deployed. Further investigations are underway.
