Uppinangady: Woman arrested for theft of jewellery from handbag

Uppinangady, January 10, 2025: Police have arrested a woman in connection with the theft of a jewellery box from the handbag of a woman at Uppinangady on Monday.

 

Abeeba, wife of Mustafa of Kadaba  had kept a golden necklace and other jewellery weighing 114 grams in a box and placed it in her vanity bag while she attended a wedding at an auditorium at Perne on January 6. However, on her return journey when she checked her bag to get her ID while travelling, she found the zip open and the box missing.

Police who swung into action arrested Naseema who has admitted her guilt. The gold jewellery which she had hid in her two-wheeler has been recovered.
