Beltangady, Dec 6: State Home Minister Dr V S Acharya along with Krishna J Palemar, District in-charge Minister, Santhosh Kumar Bhandary, President of DK ZP, Yogish Bhat, Vasanth Bangera, MLAs, Nalin Kumar Kateel, and other government officials visited the venue of World Tulu Convention and inspected the arrangements being made for the convention.
Interacting with pressmen on the occasion, Dr V S Acharya said Dr Veerendra Heggade was doing the great job in giving worldwide recognition to Tulu land and culture, through the convention. This will also highlight the name and fame of Tulunad, he opined.
Dr Acharya handed over a cheque for Rs 1 crore on behalf of the state government to Dr Veerendra Heggade on this occasion.
Meanwhile, newly constructed bus stands at Ujire junction, were inaugurated by Dr Veerendra Heggade. These bus stands were donated by M N Rajendra Kumar, President of State Apex Bank. Rajendra Kumar was honoured by Dr Veerendra Heggade and Dr Acharya on this occasion.
