Vimala Pai, mother of TV Mohandas Pai passes away

Mangaluru, September 6, 2022: TV Vimala Pai, mother of for entrepreneur and former Infosys CFO TV Mohandas Pai passed away in Bangalore on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. She was 92 years old. She was a teacher earlier.

Her son TV Mohandas Pai had instituted a prestigious literary award called Vimala V. Pai Vishwa Konkani Sahitya Puraskar at the World Konkani Centre, Mangalore in her honour.

The Board of Trustees of Konkani Bhas Ani Sanskriti Prathistan, World Konkani Centre have mourned the sad demise of Vimala V. Pai, its patron.

"As the patron of the award, she was a source of inspiration to all our activities in Konkani Language Education. Her name today is synonymous with the best of Konkani Literature as the whole Konkani World keeps the Vimala V. Pai Vishwa Konkani Sahitya Puraskars on the highest mantle. We express our heartfelt condolences to her bereaved family, especially to her son Sri TV Mohandas Pai who had instituted the award in her honour, " a statement said.
