White Doves stage ’Jeevan Santhin’ in Mangalore

Mangalore, Feb 14: The White Doves, a non government organization, staged a light-and-sound play based on the life of Mother Theresa, called “Jeevanth Santhin,” on the grounds of St. Agnes Special School in Mangalore.

The play, which was stated in commemoration of the 100th birth anniversary of Mother Theresa, commenced at 6:15 p.m. with a prayer song by the White Doves choir, after which Aloysius D’Souza, the headmaster of Rosario High School and the MC of the event, invited the dignitaries to occupy the dais. The chief guest of the event was Rev. Fr. Peter Noronha, the parish priest of Bendoor.


The other special guests were Sr. Maria Deanna, the mother superior of the Missionaries of Charity in Mangalore; Arthur Rasquinha, the writer and director of “Jeevanth Santhin,” Austin Peres, the representative of sponsors Ronald Colaco and family; William D’Souza; Rohan Monteiro; and others. Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, the bishop of Mangalore Diocese, graced the occasion with his presence.



Floral bouquets were presented to all the dignitaries and they were thanked for their support. Lauding the White Doves for their social welfare activities, Fr. Peter Noronha urged all the people of Mangalore to follow in their footsteps and support them.


Sr. Maria Deanna released Arthur Rasquinha’s CD of the play. Corrine Rasquinha and Fr. Peter Noronha then formally inaugurated the play by released white doves into the air.


“Jeevanth Santhin” is based on the life and works of Mother Theresa. A total of 70 actors, including men, women, and kids from different parishes in Mangalore, formed its cast. The music and singing was provided by the White Doves choir.


White Doves will stage this play in Bantwal, Madanthya, Shirva, and Pakshikere on Feb 20, Feb 27, March 6, and March 13, respectively.
