Mangalore, May 1: Akhila Bharata Karmika Sangha observed May Day by organizing a convention of workers under the theme “eradicate corruption and strengthen nation” on May 1, Sunday at Nehru Maidan. Esha Vittala Das Swamiji of Kemaru Mutt, Mohandas Swami of Manila, Fr. Andrew Leo D’Souza of St. Joseph Church Jeppu, and Abu Sufiyan of Bajpe Jum’a Masjid were the dignitaries on the dais.
The event was inaugurated by Esha Vittal Das, who flayed governments and political parties for encouraging corruption and urged people to wage a war against corruption throughout the nation.
Abu Sufiyan voiced his opinions that labour organizations should steer clear of political parties and political activities.
Lokesh Hegde, the president of Karmika Sangha, delivered the introductory address and welcomed the gathering. Congress leaders Moideen Bava, advocate Chengappa, and former MLC Anna Vinayachandra were some of the prominent people present.
