Mangalore, Jan 14, 2013: District Youth Congress will organize a massive public awareness vehicle rally from Urwa Store to Kannur Maidan on Jan 15, Tuesday at 3.30 pm to prevail upon the BJP government to step down from power.
Speaking at a press meet held at District Congress office on Jan 14, Monday, KPCC Secretary Ivan D’Souza alleged that the ruling BJP party was divided into three groups and that the ruling party itself was playing the role of opposition to bring down the BJP government. He said the governor must dismiss the government for failing to implement any welfare schemes.
The January 15 rally comprising around 1000 two wheelers and 500 four-wheelers will pass through PVS, City Centre, Hampankatta, Light House Hill Road, Balmatta, Kankanady, Pumpwell Circle, Padil and conclude at Kannur Maidan where a public meeting is scheduled to be held. Over 5000 people are expected to attend the meeting, Ivan informed.
Several Congress leaders including Oscar Fernandes, B Janardhana Poojary, Vinay Kumar Sorake, former speaker Ramesh Kumar, former minister B A Moideen, M M Nanayya, district Congress President B and MLA Ramanatha Rai, K Abhaychandra Jain, Vasanth Bangera, U T Khader, Legislators,Mohammed Masood, former MP B Ibrahim, Youth Congress Vice President Priyanka Kharge, Mayor Gulzar Banu and other corporators will participate in the rally and public meeting.
On this occasion, Ivan informed that SDM Law College student Ashith Pereira has been elected as NSUI District President.
Congress leaders like Mithun Rai, Nagendra, K Ashraf, Praveenchandra Alva, Arun Coelho, Vinayraj and others were present at the press meet.
