Youth drives bike straight into Kadri temple yard; creates ruckus

Mangaluru, July 9, 2024: A youth who drove his bike straight into the Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple yard, later went on rampage on July 9, Tuesday morning.

When it was time for the Maha Pooja this morning, he brought his bike straight inside the temple yard parked it there, kicked the door of the Annappa Gudi, took off the sword (Kadtale) of Annappa Lord and went on rampage.

He even climbed the stairs and onto the temple roof and even attacked a priest who questioned him. Later local youth who rushed to the spot caught hold of him.

The accused is Sudhaker Acharya, security guard of a private hospital. It is suspected that he is mentally unstable and his mother informed that he had not taken his medication since three days and was behaving unusually. It is learnt the bike which he brought to the temple yard belonged to his brother.
