Mangaluru, Nov 02 2019: Young engineers while gearing themselves up to face global challenges including climate change, should also contribute to sustained development, said Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.
He was delivering the 17th Convocation Address of NITK Suratkal on the occasion of the diamond jubilee year of the Institute.
The youth play a very important role in converting India into a nation strong both financially and technologically, Naidu said.
Expressing appreciation over the fact that NITK is recognised as one of the top ten technical institutes of India, he exuded confidence that the Institute would shine even in the global level in the days to come.
Technology has helped in achieving transparency in administration, the Vice President said adding youth instead of being job seekers should be job creators.
Prof Balaveer Reddy, Chairman of NITK Managing Board presided over the function. DK District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, NITK Director Umamaheshwar K and others were present.
A total of 1,545 graduates and post graduates received degree certificates on the occasion.
