Mangaluru, Sep 07, 2018: Ivan D’Souza, MLC has informed that nearly 28 organisations will take out a huge protest march from Hampankatta to the DC office on September 10, Monday to condemn the hike in fuel prices.
Speaking to reporters here on September 7, Friday, he said it the fuel prices were skyrocketing despite the lower price of crude oil in the international market. He pointed out that the petrol price was Rs 65 per litre when crude oil price was 108.26 dollar in the international market in 2014. Contrarily, when the crude price in international market is 65 US dollar now, the price has risen to Rs 81.63 he added.
As an awareness initiative, meetings will be held at various places on September 7 and 8 in the city. The meetings will be held at Bunder, Kudroli Jodupalli, Urva rickshaw stand, Urva store and Urva market on September 7 and at Kudroli Circle, Mahakalipadpu, Valencia, Kankanady Ground and Attavar on September 8, he informed.
