Mangaluru, Aug 28, 2018: The MCC has decided to rename the Mangaluru Town Hall after social reformer late Kudmul Ranga Rao.
Mayor Bhaskar M said addressing the press meet at MCC, "District in-charge minister UT Khader will inaugurate and also lay a foundation stone for various development works of Rs 47241.10 Lakhs in the city". The renaming ceremony of the Mangaluru Town Hall will be held at the Town Hall around 10:30 AM.
The Mayor said,"UT Kahder who is also state minister for Urban Development and Housing will inaugurate 13 developmental works completed at a cost of Rs 11.55 crore and also lay the foundation stone for 28 new works, which will be completed at a cost of Rs 516 crores in the city". The Mayor said as he briefed on the development projects that the MCC is implementing development projects at a cost of Rs 411 Lakhs under the 14th finance commission and eight project worth Rs 567 Lakhs under the premium FAR and 2 projects at the cost of Rs 218 lakhs under enterprises fund.
The entire cost of development would cost Rs 47241 Lakhs. The MCC has decided to send Rs 10 Lakh the Kodagu flood victims said the Mayor. Expanding on that the Mayor also said,"The MCC will provide Rs 10 Lac to the Kodagu flood victims. This amount has been collected after pooling together a day’s salary of the employees and one-month honorarium from the corporators". Deputy Mayor Muhammad Kunjathabail, Corporator Shashidar Hegde and others were present at the press meet.
