Udupi: Congress holds huge protest against Rafale scam

Udupi, Sep 18, 2018: The Udupi District Congress Committee staged a huge protest in the town on September 18, Tuesday demanding a thorough probe into the Rs 41,000 crore Rafale scam. Hundreds of Congress leaders as well as workers also took out a protest march from the Tiger Circle at Manipal upto the DC office wielding lathis in hands and expressing their anguish.

Addressing the protestors in front of the DC office, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said the Rafale scam was the biggest scam of the century and demanded that the scam in which PM Modi was involved must be probed by a Joint Parliamentary Panel.

Former MLA Gopal Bhandary also spoke. District Congress President Janardhan Thonse, MLC K Pratapchandra Shetty, former MLA Gopal Poojary, State INTUC President Rakesh Malli, MA Gafur, Mamatha Gatti, Veronica Carnelio and others were present.

The protestors later submitted a memorandum through Additional DC Vidya Kumari.
