Bal Bhavan Chairperson Sulochana G. K. Bhat said that even Congress MLAs are in favor of MLA Yogish Bhat becoming the deputy speaker, adding that Mr. Bhat is capable of taking any post given to him.

Referring to Mr. Yogish Bhat as the “Vajapayee of Mangalore,” Shrikar Prabhu said that he always works for the development of his constituency, adding that he had convinced the mayor to procure a sum of Rs. 100 crore for the development of the city.

Receiving the honor, MLA and Deputy Speaker N. Yogesh Bhat said that even a small responsibility should be taken seriously to get excellent results. Promising that he will fulfill both the duties of a deputy speaker as well as those of an MLA, Mr. Bhat said that the state government has promised to help him complete all the development projects launched in DK.

Assuring the gathering that he will make the twin districts models to follow in just 2 years, he said that supporters such as District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar and BJP President Padmanabha Kottary will help him fulfill his goals. He said that his duties as deputy speaker will consume his time, adding that this will not interfere with his developmental projects.
