Mangalore, Apr 22: The Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy in collaboration with Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh, Suratkal will organize ‘Konkani Folk Art Festival’ at Suratkal Church Premises on April 25, Sunday at 3 pm.
Speaking at the press meet at press club on April 22, Thursday, Kundapur Narayan Kharvi, president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, said that there are 42 communities in Konkani, hence the best folk from all will be selected and presented on the occasion.
Vittal Prabhu, former president, Town Municipal, Surathkal will inaugurate the event; While Kundapur Narayan Kharvi will preside over the occasion.
Later, the seminar on folk art will be held. District in charge minister Krishna J Palemar, will be the chief guest on the occasion. A G Pai, director, MSEZ, Fr Valerian Mendonca, director, Sandesha Foundation, Fr Antony Diyag Lobo, bishop , Surathkal and Raymond Roche, president, Catholic Sabha Suratkal unit will be the guest of honour at the stage programme.
