Mangaluru, Nov 16, 2015: The counselling for job aspirants, as part of Mangaluru Udyoga Mela, will be held at Sthree Shakthi Bhavana in Bantwal and DC’s office in the city from 9 am on November 16.
Briefing media DK DC Adoor B Ibrahim said 185 companies have already registered to take part in the job fair. Around 9,000 job aspirants have enrolled their names. In the counselling programme held on November 7 and 8, around 1,500 job aspirants have taken part. Six private firms from Gulf countries, including Dubai and Kuwait, are taking part in the job fair. There are ample opportunities for the graduates of BSc/BCom/BHRD/BSW/ ITI-Diploma/Civil/Mechanical engineering and BHM (hotel management), he added.
During a meeting with CEOs in Bengaluru, many complained that the job aspirants attend the fair casually without proper preparation and documents. The orientation programme aims at preparing the job aspirants to face the interview. There are 7,500 vacancies on offer, he noted.
Alva’s Education Foundation Trustee Vivek Alva said that KEF Holdings has around 50 jobs. The package for IT Manager (experienced) is Rs 23 lakh per annum, while for Finance Officer (with CA) is Rs 20 lakh; HR officer ( Rs 13 lakh), Assistant HR Manager (Rs 17 lak), IT officer is Rs 12 lakh. A fresh civil engineer may get a package up to Rs 10 lakh. The Gulf Medical Centre has openings in IT and health sector while NMC has openings in Nursing nd front office staff.
"There are vacancies in hospitality industry. However, only a handful of aspirants have registered for the job in hospitality industry," he said. "There are several openings in chemical engineering as well. As only 15 graduates have registered under the sector, we have asked all the engineering colleges to inform their students about the job fair," Alva added.
Transportat : To ferry the job aspirants to Canara Engineering College, the venue of the job fair, buses have been arranged at B C Road, Kaikamba, Nanthoor Junction, Pumpwell and Maripalla Junction from 7.30 am.
The aspirants should get at least 10 copies of biodata; at least 10 passport size photographs and at least 10 copies of degree certificates (along with original) and at least 10 copies of marks cards.
The job aspirants will be segregated according to the specific requirements of participating companies.
The companies initially specify the requirements of the candidates on the basis of their qualifications and the skill sets that they expect in their prospective employees. Also the data of candidates would be supplied to the companies as per their requirements throughout the year, Alva added.
