’POWER’ all set for events to mark Women’s Day, in Udupi -Mar 7 & 8.

Udupi :  POWER - Platform for Women Entrepreneurs, is set to  organise its annual event titled ‘Empower’ and another event tiled ‘Avkash’ to mark the International Women’s Day here on March 7 and 8, respectively.

Speaking to media, Mar 4, Friday, Sarita Santosh, president of POWER, said that they launched the organisation on March 8, 2009. ‘Empower’ would be held in association with the School of Communication at SOC auditorium on March 7. A seminar focusing on women empowerment too would be held. ‘Avkash’ would be held at Valley View at 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday. Anusha Shetty, chief executive officer, and co-founder, Autumn World Wide, and Babita Raj, entrepreneur, would be present. As many as 10 eminent women would be felicitated on the occasion. . Nandini Lakshmikantha, Director of SOC, who was present, said that the SOC would train the women entrepreneurs in two batches. The training in the first batch would be for established women entrepreneurs. The training would include team building exercises and selling products online. The second batch would include budding women entrepreneurs and they would be given tips on effective communication, body language, and team building. Padma Kumar and Shruthi Shetty, would be resource persons.
