Mangaluru, Nov 19, 2019: Suraj Educational and Charitable Trust will organise Suraj Kalasiri—Karnataka Kaladarshana at the Suraj educational institutions in Mudipu on November 23 and 24.
Trust President Manjunath S Revankar said actor Ramesh Bhat will be conferred Suraj Kalasiri award while writer Dr Amruth Someshwar will be conferred ‘Suraj Seva’ award.
He said a cultural procession comprising ‘chende’, ‘Kunitha Bhajan’, Duff, Scouts and Guides will be held on November 23 from Mudipu Junction to the school campus. ZP President Meenakshi Shanthigodu will inaugurate the procession. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel will inaugurate the Kalasiri. Minister C T Ravi will release souvenir ‘Sujnana’.
On November 23, after the stage programme, Manju Ranebennur will present Kannada folk songs and ‘Geegee pada’. Mehraz Kolkali Sangha will present Beary Kunitha and Kolkali. Konkani cultural programmes will be performed by Irene Rebello of Konkani Surungar Kala Tanda. A Tulu play, ‘4 Godeda Nadutu’ by Ranjan Boloor, will be staged on the occasion.
On November 24, the Suraj institutions’ annual day programme will be attended by Sri Ramakrishna College Principal Dr Balakrishna Shetty. Vismaya Vinayaka team will present a comedy show at 2.30 pm. Shadow play and a magic show by Prahlad Acharya, Kannada songs by Mime Ramdas and team will be held.
