10-year RI for three for selling ganja

Oct 15, 2016: Reports indicate the District and Sessions Court has sentenced three persons, guilty of selling 34.600 kg ganja worth Rs 8.65 lakh, to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh each.

The accused are Sayyed Anees Ahmmed (56), a resident of Mysuru Raj Kumar Road, his son Mansoor Ahmmed (31) and Amsar Pasha (48), a resident of Chikkamagaluru.

The court has ordered them to undergo additional six months of imprisonment if they fail to pay the fine. The trio were arrested on March 13, 2013, at Bunder area.
