17-year-old girl dies of drowning in Ullal

Mangalore, Jun 4, 2012 : A 17-year-old girl died of drowning at Ullal beach on June 3, Sunday. The deceased Ronak was playing with her 15-year-old friend Husna in the water. Husna was rescued, but is in a critical condition.

Abdul Shukar and his family visited the mosque at Ullal on Sunday, and after offering their prayers, they went to the beach. The teenagers began playing in the water, but were washed away by the rough waves.

Although a rescue team comprising Vasu Bangera, Praveen Kotian, Rajesh Putran, and Chandrahas Suvarna rushed to the spot, they could only save Husna, who was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The family ignored the rescue team’s warning not to get into the water, which resulted in the tragedy.
