jayalaxmi 1Mangalore, Oct 11, 2012 : Three people died in two unrelated road accidents in Mangalore and Kasargod. Jayalakshmi Ashok (44), a teacher at Yenepoya School in Jeppinamogaru, died and her husband Ashok Kumar, who teaches a Kendriya Vidyalaya, was injured when a gas tanker dashed into their car at Kuntikana on NH17 on Wednesday.


The couple was travelling to Kendriya Vidhyalaya quarters in Panambur. The gas tanker was trying to overtake the car at top speed when it dashed into the rear of the car.


In an unrelated incident, two people were killed when their bike was hit by a bus in Kottiyadi in Adur on Wednesday at around 3:00 p.m.

A private bus plying between Kasargod and Adur dashed into the bike from the opposite direction. Issan and Naimuddin, who are both 18 years of age, are seriously injured. They were rushed to the hospital, but the doctors declared them dead on arrival. The two used to work as casual laborers.
