3 drugs peddlers arrested; ganja worth Rs 17 lakh seized

Mangalore, Feb 3, 2013: Sleuths belonging to the Corps of Detectives in Mangalore and  the Arasikere Police have arrested three persons  on the charges of smuggling ganja from Bangalore to Mangalore. The arrest  took place  near Arasikere  after the car in which the trio was travelling was intercepted near the Kantenahalli tank bundh.

The value of the seized ganja has been estimated at  Rs 17 lakhs.  The ganja was  found in several packets inside the car. It is learnt, they got the ganja from Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh and intended to take it  to Mangalore from Bangalore.

The arrested are  Krishna Reddy of Tiptur, Ramesh of Bhadravati and Farooq of Shimoga.
