35 people take part in biriyani eating competition

Mangalore, Nov 8, 2012: Around 35 gourmets took part in an eating competition called Biriyani War recently organized by The Three Hungry Men.
 

The Three Hungry Men, Colin D’Souza, Rajath Rao, and Nikhil Pai, held the event at Biriyani N Grills. A press release from them stated that fewer people than expected turned out because of the bird flu scare, but those who took part returned home with attractive gifts provided by Bindu Jeera Masala Soda and Goal Technologies.

 Sonal Karkera, who won in the chicken category, said that this is the first event of its kind held in Mangalore. He said that the food was excellent and that the competition was well-organized. Sonal finished an entire handi of biriyani in just 2 minutes and 16 seconds.

 
Ziyad Quazi ate a handi of vegetable biriyani in 2 minutes and 4 seconds and emerged as the winner in the vegetarian category.
