Udupi, Apr 06, 2015: A groups of four persons entered a house late on Saturday night and allegedly assaulted a 45-year-old resident of Moodanidamburu village near Udupi.
According to the Udupi Town Police, Prasad Rao was fast asleep when four persons allegedlyentered his house around Saturday midnight. The assaulters allegedly rained blows on Mr. Rao and then reportedly hit his legs with a iron rod kept at a corner of the house.
The assaulters ran out of the house as Mr. Rao raised the alarm. The police said that Mr. Rao has accused persons with whom he has dispute over land of attacking him. Mr. Rao has been admitted to a private hospital.
Chain snatched
Two motorcycle-borne persons allegedly stole the gold chain of a 35-year-old woman from Balpugudde near Kavoor when she was walking towards her house on Saturday night.
According to the Kavoor police, Sarojini finished her work at her office near Lady Hill Junction and boarded a bus to her house.
She got down near Mahalingeshwara Temple bus stop and started walking towards her house. A motorcyclist stopped his vehicle and asked her the way to Yeyyadi.
As she was showing the way, the motorcyclist started to move and the person riding pillion allegedly snatched her gold chain. Sarojini raised the alarm but the duo fled from the spot. The gold chain was worth Rs. 40,000, the police said.
