5 SRS activists arrested for attempt to murder

Mangalore, Feb 21: A special police team arrested 5 Shri Rama Sene (SRS) activists at Adyarkatte, Mangalore on the grounds of assault and attempt to murder. Allegedly, the 5 had tried to kill 2 people at Jeppinamogaru on Feb 11. The police team has confiscated a car, which the 5 used for their crime.

The arrested are Chethan Poojar, Kamesh, Ganesh, Harish, and Sujith. All of them are from Mangalore and all of them have been booked in several earlier cases.

On Feb 11, the group of 5 arrived in a car and intercepted a bus that was on its way to Mangalore and attacked Usman Faizi and Mohammed Ashraf with dangerous weapons. They also damaged the window panes of the bus.

The district police had set up a special team to trace the culprits.
