Mangalore, Nov 13: In its efforts to empower deprived children from orphanages and other destitute homes, the Centre for Integrated Learning (CIL) will be organizing the Children’s Day on Saturday in a unique manner through a painting event at Abhayashraya, a home for the orphans at Asaigoli near Konaje on the outskirts of the city.
As part of the special occasion, the inmates of Abhayashraya will bring out their talents through the medium of art, which will be displayed at an exhibition to be held on November 28 and 29 at Giridhar Rao Sanjeevibai Vrudhashrama at Kodialbail in the city.
According to the Executive Director of CIL, Sachitha Nandagopal, the event is organized to meaningfully celebrate Children’s Day through which we intend to boost the self-esteem of the inmates of Abhayashraya who are deprived of opportunities and in turn suffer from low levels of self-confidence. The exhibition of their own works, will surely go a long way in unconsciously building their self esteem, she added.
CIL, a city based organization, has been organizing various events and developing concepts to render value addition to the present education system. The organization has mooted a unique concept called Parallel School for high school students and also working on After-School programmes for different schools in the city.
