Mangalore, Nov 10, 2012: AI Express has launched a new flight service between Mangalore and Bangalore, which will be run four times per week and increased its daily flights to Dubai to two.
The new services were launched at a formal inaugural ceremony, at which members of the KCCI, travel agents, corporate bodies, officials of the Airport Authority of India, and others were present. The event was held at Taj Gateway on Nov 8, Wednesday.
Melwyn D’Silva, station manager for AI, delivered the welcome address and announced that AI Express flights began in Oct 2006 with three flights per week and today AI operates 32 flights per week. Stating that AI could achieve this only with the support of its staff and passengers, he said that the Mangalore to Bangalore services were launched because of demand for the same.
He also said that passenger traffic from Mangalore to Gulf countries has increased this winter.
Speaking on the occasion, Tara Naidu, head (commercials) for AI Express, said that AI Express is focusing on Mangalore this winter.
The flight from Mangalore to Bangalore will leave at 17:15 hrs and the flight from Bangalore to Mangalore will leave at 19:15 hrs on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday every week.
The Mangalore to Mumbai to Mangalore flight will be operated for four days. The flight from Mumbai will land at Mangalore at 16:15 hrs and depart from Mangalore at 21:15 hrs.
