Aided school teachers not paid on time

Aided school teachers not paid on time

Mangalore Today News

Mangalore, May 11:  Teachers of aided schools in DK are not getting paid at the right time. Some of them received their salaries for March at the end of April, while others have still not been paid. Those who have received their March salaries are still waiting for their April salaries.

An aided school teacher said that they do all the work government teachers do. They were also engaged in census work. Now, they have election duty; yet the aided school teachers are not paid on time. She added that teachers who depend on their salaries for their livelihood find it very difficult to make a living.

DK has 100 aided schools; and salary allotment is always a problem because the government does not consider government school teachers and aided school teachers as one entity.

DDPI Chame Gowda said that owing to delay in allotment, the salary for the month of March was delayed, but the salary for the month of April has already been credited.

The BEO said that the allotment for the salaries of aided teachers was released late. The Manager of BEO offices was on election duty, owing to which the billing was also delayed for March. He assured that the salary bill for April has already been sent to the treasury and many teachers have already received their salary. Those who haven’t will receive it in two days. He said that teachers who still have problems with their salaries can approach him directly.
