Aloysius holds ’PPL 2016’, Nov 18, 19

Mangaluru, Nov 18, 2016: Addressing media, college principal Melwin Mendonca SJ, informd that  this year the annual state-level intellectual and cultural fest of St Aloysius PU College has a special attraction, the Pre Unique Premier League (PPL)-2016.

The two-day event will be held on November 18 and 19 at the pretorium of the institute. Acting rector Pradeep Sequeira SJ will inaugurate the function at 8.45 am while Soujanya Hegde from Namma TV will be the guest of honour. Choreographer and Konkani film star Elton Mascarenhas will be the guest of honour for the valedictory."

He added that cine actors Pratheeksha and Tanvi, both alumni of the institute, are expected to participate in the event. Over 50 institutions in the state have registered for the fest, added Rev endonca. Giving details of the events, convener Sujith Kumar said, "PPL dream team will be awarded in each category of arts, commerce and science."

Dean and convener Kiran Shetty said that of the total 42 competitions, 18 will be conducted under cultural category and 12 under intellectual category for college students. The remaining 12 competitions will be conducted for high school students. The contests include ’Third eye’, a live photography contest, ’freelance’ for budding scribes, dance, moviescope (where three-hour films will be condensed to 15 minutes), rock on and quiz to name a few.  Vice-principal Rekha K Alva was also present.
