Moodbidri, Jan 4, 2015:  It is reported that Alva’s College team emerged victorious in Mangalore University inter-collegiate women’s weightlifting competition.  The men’s team of the college also won champions in the bodybuilding contest.

In men’s weightlifting competition, Ujire SDM College won second, Puttur Philomena College third and Dhavala College fourth places.

In men’s bodybuilding contest, the Alva’s College team won championship by securing 24 points.

Mulki Vijaya College, Milagres College, Kalyanpura won runners-up prize and St Mary’s College Shirva won the third place.

In men’s weightlifting contest, Manjunath of SDM College, Ujire; Mohan, Yathish Shetty, Rajeev Chauhan, Vishal Sunil, Afzal Rehman of Alva’s College won meet records. In women’s category, Tushmith M V of SDM, Shaikum T, H Merina Devi, Shalini G, Sushma T S of Alva’s Colleges made meet records.

Rakshith of Alva’s College won Mr Mangalore University title while Manjunath of SDM College, Ujire won the best lifter award.

In women’s category, Thushmitha M V of SDM College won the best lifter award.
