Mangalore, Aug 28, 2012 : Shivappa Renkadaguthu, state president of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Prathishtana, announced at a press conference held today that the parthistana will adopt Koyyur in Belthangady and will develop it into a model village in 5 years.
He also said that the prathishtana will provide free electricity for five years to all people who still do not have electricity connection in the village. Energy Minister Shobha Karandlaje has promised to provide the required assistance, he added.
Further, he said that the prathishtana will distribute free fertilizer to all farmers, construct houses for the homeless, provide essentials such as clothing and household items to the underprivileged, and appoint a doctor with an ambulance for the village.
RSS leaders Dr. Kalladka Bhat will inaugurate the project in the presence of CM Jagadish Shettar and former chief ministers D. V. Sadananda Gowda, B. S. Yeddyurappa, S. M. Krishna, H. D. Kumaraswamy, and M. Veerappa Moily.
While stating that the project will be inaugurated within one month, he could not reveal the source of funds for the project. He declared that the parthishtana will develop Koyyur in such a manner that it will serve as an example for all backward villages.
