Mangalore, Nov 28: The annual feast of Blessed Joseph Vaz will be celebrated from Dec 1 - 2 at Mudipu. This year, the theme of the festival is “unite us in the shadow of thy anointed hands.”
The festive Eucharistic celebrations will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Dec 1, Tuesday; and the main celebrant will be Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, the priest of St Joseph’s Parish, Jeppu. A special prayer service for the sick will also be conducted.
Other services of Dec 1 will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. On Dec 2, Wednesday, services will be conducted at 8:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. The 4:00 p.m. service will be in Kannada.
A solemn festive mass will be held at the Shrine of the Blessed Joseph Vaz on Mudipu Hill at 10:30 a.m. on Dec 3, Thursday; and the main celebrant will be Fr Stany Goveas, the dean and episcopal vicar of the city deanery and priest of Rosario Cathedral.
A 3-day novena will be held daily at 4:30 p.m. from Nov 27 - 30, except on the 29th. Prayers will be offered for the fulfillment of desires during the novena.
Petitions, requests for thanksgiving masses, donations, offerings, and so will be accepted daily.
