Mangalore, March 6, 2014: The city level online test for the ‘Classmate Spell Bee 2014 competition has a winner. Anushka Rodi of Canara High School has emerged successful in the event. Spell Bee is India’s largest school level spelling competition.

The Season 6 of the event was launched by Classmate and Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM earlier this year. In the first round,  spelling tests were given to children in 10 schools of Mangalore as an on-ground exercise, Fifteen toppers from each school competed in the finals for the city level in which Anushka emerged the Champion.

The top 16 scorers in India will battle at the final rounds of the Classmate Spell Bee 2014  to win the India’s Spell Bee Champion title. The winners will walk away with a grand prize of Rs 2 lakh. He or she will also have an opportunity to witness the prestigious Scripps National Spelling Bee with a parent in Washington DC, USA in an all expenses paid trip. A cash prize of Rs 50,000 will be awarded to four semi finalists of the event.
