Ashraf attributes Congress victory in Dakshina Kannada to Janardhan Poojari

Mangalore, May 9, 2013 : Congress leader and former mayor Ashraf was all praise for senior party leader  B Janardhan Poojari  and said Poojari was instrumental in leading Congress to victory in the district in the Assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters here on May 9, Thursday, Ashraf said all party workers leader and newly elected representatives of MCC are looking forward to work along with their new MLA JR Lobo.

On this occasion, Ashraf said the  Muslim voters in the district had wholeheartedly supported the Congress and also added that they did not fall prey to the divisive politics. He further alleged  that the SDPI was a tool used by the BJP with an intention of defeating the Congress.

Party leader Kallige Taranath Shetty said  Congress will ensure that works on the Thumbay second vented dam and setting up of a new city bus stand for Mangalore would be taken up on a priority basis by the Congress administration.

Ivan D’Souza, KPCC Secretary, who also spoke, rebutted the claims of former MLA Yogish Bhat that he has initiated several developmental works in Mangalore. Most of the projects which Bhat was speaking of were conceptualized during the Congress regime, he claimed.
