Assault by in-laws on Anganwadi Worker’s Association president

Udupi, Aug 23, 2017: Udupi, District president of Anganwadi Workers’ Association and vice-president of Prevention of Woman and Child Trafficking Committee Usha Naik was allegedly assaulted by her in-laws.  She is now admitted in Kundapur government hospital. Usha along with her child was staying with her in-laws after husband Raviraj Naik’s death in 2011.


Recently Usha was given census work and she used to carry out this work after attending Anganwadi duty. Her in-laws, who were not happy with her work, picked-up a fight with her and assaulted her.  A case has been registered against Nagaraja Naik, Mahesh, Sharada, Savithri and Vinay at Kundapur police station.
