Mangalore, Aug 3, 2014: Addressing a press conference, Sahyadri Samrakshana Sanchaya Convenor Dinesh Holla came down heavily on elected representatives of Dakshina Kannada district for their inactivity in opposing the proposed Yettinahole project.

 Holla  said that as there is no token opposition even in the district against Yettinahole project, the State government has sanctioned the project without consulting the people of Dakshina Kannada. The elected representatives are just issuing statements against the project and have failed to check the implementation of the project. The elected representatives have failed to convene an all party meeting to discuss the issue.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda are not concerned.  They have neglected their commitment to the district by keeping quiet on Netravati- Hemavati, Netravati- Palar river joining project proposed by the Central government.

The members of Sanchaya will organise a protest — ‘Netravati Tiruvu- Swatantryada Kalavu’ against Yettinahole project, in the district on August 15. The Sanchaya will also block the national highways. Sahyadri Samrakshana Sanchaya Members Kateel Dinesh Pai, Dinesh Kodialbail, Swapna Noronha, Rajesh Devadiga and others were present and all desired stern action.
