Awareness of new technology must for efficient vehicle management

Kasaragod, June 5 , 2014: Kerala State Minister for Transport Thiruvanjur Radhakrishnan, speaking to the media  from Kasargod,   speaking after inaugurating transport surveillance camera and trauma care society on the premises of Kasaragod City Municpal Council on June 3,  said the present system of vehicle checking is causing dissatisfaction to public and user-friendly technology  is a must on the transport department in the present scenario.  It is seen that many cases have gone unnoticed due to faulty equipment.

Eleven interceptors operate at present and 20 more are expected soon. These vehicles are equipped with alcometer to monitor violation of traffic rules. People were suspicious of  the legal procedures. Laws have been revised and the technology has also been improved towards the surveillance and awarenes and efficiency needs to be stepped up for common people to trust the sytem and fall in line .  The minister also distributed certificates of  successful training to many school bus drivers.

Kasargod City Municipal Council President T E Abdulla was present. Kasargod MLA N A Nellikunje presided over the programme organised in the interest of better vehicle handling.
