Mangaluru: As the chief guest at the Graduation ceremony of Karnataka Ayurveda Medical College in Mangaluru on June 4, Wednesday; Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda, Manipal, Principal Dr Sathyanarayan Bhat said that retrospection is very essential for medical professionals. He further said that communication skill is the foremost criteria for doctors.
The physicians must be able to motivate and influence their patients. Theoretical knowledge, confidence and expertise in practical applications are expected from doctors. When one masters these, one becomes a complete professional. Dr Bhat said that sympathy, affection, love and good links with patients are the four qualities which are suggested by the shastras or the classical texts of Ayurveda.
Emotional attachment towards patients may adversely effect the skills of doctors, Bhat said and called upon the new graduates to gain knowledge on multiple scientific branches.
RGUHS Senate member Dr Abhilash P V, KECT Trustee Dr Rajanish Sorake and KAMC Principal Dr Udaya D K were present. Thirty five graduates were presented the degree of BAMS. 10 have passed out with distinction and 17 with first class.
