Ayush to be implemented soon, Principal Health Secretary

UJIRE, Oct 14, 2014:  In his key address at the degree convocation of SDM College of Naturopathy and Yogic Science in Ujire on Ocotber 12. Department of Health and Family Welfare Principal Secretary N Shivashailam stated that  the Union government has approved Ayush Mission. This will boost the Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Sidda and Homeopathy system of medicine,

Indicating  that doctors of Naturopathy need to adhere to the guidelines in naturopathy treatment, Shivashailam said that the patient should be kept completely informed of the treatment. He meanwhile called upon the post graduates to carry out research, which should accompany the continuous learning process.

Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade said that the doctors should focus on updating their knowledge rather than money making. Doubts should be cleared by consulting senior experts. Naturopathy and Ayurveda practitioners have no reasons to feel inferior to their counterparts as these modes of treatment are being widely accepted. Patience is must while serving the patients, Heggade said.It has been planned to open six  Yoga training centres in Bangalore by Shanthivana Trust, Dharmasthala. A proposal in this regard has been sent to the government. There are Ayush units in 10 district centres in the state and 55,000 patients have been treated in these units. SDM Educational Institutions Vice President Prof S Prabhakar, Secretary B Yashovarma and College Principal Dr Prashant Shetty were present.The team of post graduates emerged as the maiden team to have received the degree in Naturopathy and Yogic Science in the country.
