Mangaluru, Sep 8,2017: State unit of BJP has raised doubts about the professional integrity of B K Singh, IGP, heading the SIT set up by the state government to probe the killing of journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh. The party launched a scathing broadside against the officer at the Mangaluru Chalo rally.
Singh, the party maintained, had attempted to derail the probe in to the death of DSP M K Ganapathy by getting his brother, also a DSP in the state police to give a false statement.
Levelling this charge, state general secretary Aravind Limbavalli said, the state government has set up SIT to probe Gauri’s death and B K Singh is the heading it.
"Do you know who B K Singh is? He is the very same officer who got a signed statement from Ganapathi’s brother that there was a feud in the family and this could have led to his death," he said adding that in fairness of things, it will be only appropriate that the government hands over the case to the CBI.
