Mangaluru, April 08, 2015:  DK DC Adoor B Ibrahim said that former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivanram was India’s driving force in attaining self reliance in food production.  Speaking at the 108th birthday celebrations of the leader, organised by MCC - Mangaluru City Corporation and Department of Social Justice, at ZP Hall in M’luru

Stating that Jagjivanram as the pioneer of green revolution, the DC said that Babu played a significant role in 1950 five-year plans. It was he who gave emphasis to establish good irrigation facilities and improve food production all over the country which brought self reliance in food.
