Basti Vaman Shenoy receives Goa Konkani Academy award

Mangalore, June 20, 2012 : The Goa Konkani Academy recently conferred the Madhav Manjunath Shanbhag Konkani Lifetime Service Award on Basti Vaman Shenoy in recognition and appreciation of his various contributions to the promotion and development of the Konkani language.

The academy especially conferred the award on Mr. Shenoy for his contributions in the fields of Konkani art, culture, literature, and folk art.

Vishnu Wagh, president of Goa Konkani Academy, conferred the award on Shenoy in the presence of Vishwanath Sachdev, editor of Navaneeta, and Vincy Quadros, vice president of Goa Konkani Academy.
