Mangaluru, Nov 27, 2019: Bhajana Sambhrama Reception Committee Chairman Dr M Mohan Alva said at Sanganiketan on Nov 26, Tuesday that Bhajana Mahamandala, Mangaluru, will organise ‘Bhajana Sambhrama 2019’ at Sri Kshetra Hanumagiri in Ishwaramangala, Puttur, on December 29 from 9.30 am to 7.30 pm.
The event was organised in order to encourage Bhajan troupes. “As many as 5,000 members of Bhajana Mandali from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kasargod and Kodagu districts will take part.”
He said social workers would take part in two sessions at 9 am to discuss the future activities on December 29. A Shobhayatra procession will also be taken out by the members of bhajan troupes (3 pm). Bhajan singing will be held at the temple from 4.15 pm. A formal programme will be held at 5 pm.
Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh Saha Sarakaryavaha Mukund and Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Prathap Chandra Sarangi will take part. Six bhajans will be presented by 5,000 singers after lighting 1,000 earthen lamps on the temple premises.
The committee comprising 83 stalwarts had been formed under the chairmanship of Dr M Mohan Alva. Various sub-committees had been formed. An audio CD comprising the six bhajans to be sung during the Bhajana Sambhrama was released by Malila Seer Mohanadasa Paramahamsa Swam.
Dr Mohan Alva added that there are plans to train people from different villages in bhajan singing.
