Bhoota Kola artist dies of cardiac arrest

Mangaluru, Jan 28, 2024: Bhoota kola Artiste died due to cardiac arrest on Saturday. The deceased is Ashok Bangera, 47, from Gandhakadu near Padavinangady.

The unfortunate incident occurred during the ’gaggara seve’ as part of a kola seve. Feeling exhausted, Bangera decided to take a break, and the performance was continued by another daivanarthaka. After returning home and getting some rest, he awoke in the early hours of Saturday with chest pain and was swiftly rushed to the hospital.

Ashok Bangera, a well-known daivanartaka with two decades of service, was the son of Madhav Bangera, leaving behind a significant legacy in the Bhoota Kola community.
