Kundapur, July 11, 2018: The body of a man who went missing on July 8 was recovered on the banks of a nearby river at Bellal village in Kundapur taluk on July 10, Tuesday. He is said to have drowned.
According to the Kollur police, Govinda Poojary (46) was crossing a stream at Kuntady Mortu in Bellal village at around 3 p.m. on July 8, when he got caught in the water currents and was carried away. There was heavy rainfall on that day. Since he could not swim, he drowned.
The body was recovered from the riverbanks of the Chakra in the same village at around 10 a.m. A case of unnatural death has been registered. Police are investigating.
